Our production schedule, winter 2017
Each year, during the winter, we take a break from production. During our
break, we stop production of the Custom Imprinted Motorcycle Coaster® (one color
ink on colored coasters). We can still take orders for them during our
break, but production will not happen until we return.
Also please note, ALL other products, including the Full Color Digital Print
Motorcycle Coaster® (full color image on a white, ridgeless coaster), are
available as they normally would be. They can be ordered and will be
produced and shipped to you during our break.
See the next section of this newsletter for a list of other popular custom
imprinted items we offer.
Here’s the schedule of our winter break for 2017:
Our last available production day is Friday, November 18.
Our first available production day after the break is Monday, January 8, 2018.
Please make a note of it for your records.
If you want to buy Custom Imprinted Motorcycle Coasters® and you need them
sometime during November or December (or the first week of 2018), order now!

Can we print your shaded image?
The short answer is yes. But, it still needs to be a vector line image to
be usable.
In most applications, shading in an image to be reproduced is achieved by the
halftone process, a reprographic technique that simulates continuous tone
imagery through the use of dots, varying either in size or in spacing, thus
generating a gradient-like effect (shading). Halftone can also be used to
refer specifically to the image that is produced by this process. The
resulting image will likely be a .jpg or .png format, not suitable for printing
Motorcycle Coasters®.
So, how can you achieve the same shading in a vector line image? By having
your graphic artist produce a stippled image. Stippling is the
creation of a pattern simulating varying degrees of solidity or shading by using
small dots or short strokes (lines). Here’s an example.
At right is an example of a stippled photo.
Literally thousands of small dots or short strokes create the shading
effect here.
An image like this one can be reproduced on Motorcycle Coasters®. |

Jack the Coaster Guy on the road
Every year in May (Memorial Day weekend) and September (Labor Day weekend) in
Illinois, is the Springfield Mile.
Jack the Coaster Guy attends almost every time, usually with the Vintage
Japanese Motorcycle Club (VJMC), and Christine accompanies him. Here are a
few photos from his trip in September.
The rig is loaded and Christine is ready to go. Road trip!
Oops! Forgot the banner. So, they improvised with a t-shirt! The
motorcycle is Jack's 1981 1047cc Honda CBX.
