Featured business: Aiden's Mobile Detailing -- Mississauga, Ontario

Do you ever wish you had the time to detail your own motorcycle?  Too busy, right?  So, you ride or trailer your bike over to the detailing shop and leave it.  You'll have to make another trip later to pick it up.  Not hassle-free, to be sure.

Bikers in Mississauga, Ontario are livin' the dream.  They have Aiden's Mobile Detailing.  The company brings the detailing to you, so your bike never has to leave the driveway.  When you deal with Aiden's, you deal directly with owner/operator Doug Ransom.  Customers always find that he's a nice guy to deal with and he takes his work very seriously.

As an added bonus, when Doug finishes a detailing job, he always gives his customer the Aiden's Mobile Detailing custom imprinted Motorcycle Coaster®.

Focus on motorcycle blogs

Because motorcyclists are passionate about the motorcycling lifestyle, one fact holds true.  They never tire of reading about motorcycles, motorcycling, events, and motoryclists, any or all of which have made a difference in their lives.  To that end, there is no shortage of motorcycle-related blogs on the Internet.  Here are two we like that we think may interest our readers.

The Vintagent

The Vintagent began as a blog in 2006, founded by Paul d’Orléans, and amassed millions of views and nearly 1000 articles in ten years. A total revamp of the site began in 2016 to seamlessly incorporate film and a new, reader-friendly layout. The writers actively collaborate with historians, artists and filmmakers from around the world to bring the best possible content to the widest possible audience. Choose from 30 main topics on their home page.  From there, you could get lost for hours in this blog.

Check them out here.

Visor Down

VisorDown is run by Crash Media Group (CMG), London, England. CMG touts itself as "a next-gen specialist media company fusing audiences, technology, and data." VisorDown is part of the CMG Full Throttle Network©.  The blog features Bike News, Blogs, Review, Forums, etc.

Motorcycling events

Sure, you've heard of Sturgis.  You've heard of Americade.  A dozen or so really big bike rallies come immediately to mind when you're trying to think of rallies you might like to attend some day.  Of course, going to a rally like Sturgis, depending on where you live, can be an expensive proposition.  What you may not know is that there are literally hundreds (if not thousands) of bike rallies almost year round all over the United States.  Attending some of those might be within your budget reach, especially if you could discover a smaller rally that's closer to home.  So, where can you find a list of rallies?  There are a few places we found to be helpful, and share them here.

CycleFish.com

Everyone is welcome to browse the site and use all of the biker and motorcycle resources free. Guests can search the Motorcycle Event Calendar with thousands of local and major motorcycle rallies and biker events, locate and read reviews on Biker Friendly Business, view public Photo Albums, read User Blogs, browse the Biker/Motorcycle Forum, and more.

You can register as a member for free. As a member, you can also chat & message other users, view other members' photo albums, post to the forum, find riding buddies, enter your own events, post comments on just about every area of the site, start your own photo albums and upload pictures and videos, post classified ads, and more. Registration is completely free and anonymous.

Check them out here.

MotorcycleLife.net

This site is not nearly as extensive as CycleFish.  It does allow you to view events by state.

Check them out here.

Lets-Ride.com

This site is fairly extensive.  Click on the world map for the country you want.  View events in that country.  "Drill down" from there.  For example, once you click on the U.S., you have to drill down state by state for events.

A walk down memory lane: rock music 50 years ago

In 1968, there were only sixteen #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, owing to the fact that most songs spent multiple weeks at the top. Only two songs, "Green Tambourine" by The Lemon Pipers and "Harper Valley P.T.A." by Jeannie C. Riley, spent one week at number one. All other hit singles were on the chart for at least two weeks.

"Hey Jude" by The Beatles was at the top the longest in 1968, nine weeks, and it was the second time The Beatles topped the chart that year. Earlier in the year, "Hello Goodbye" was #1 for two weeks.

Here's the whole list of #1 songs in 1968 on the Billboard Hot 100, with a link to each at YouTube, in case you want to give them a listen. For some of our readers, this list will bring back a flood of good time memories. Our younger readers may be discovering these songs for the first time. Either way, there are some great tunes here!
